Admiral Insurance

Admiral Group Plc are the name behind some of the UK's most instantly recognisable insurance brands, including Admiral, Diamond, Confused.com and Elephant.co.uk.

With a turnover of £825m and over 1,500,000 vehicles on cover, their large customer base relies heavily on the high levels of service they receive from Admiral Group, both when starting / changing a policy or if they are ever unfortunate enough to make a claim. IT is vital to the Admiral Group's aspirations and as such, their primary servers are mirrored between their two major sites in Swansea and Cardiff, with fault tolerance built into the systems at every level. Covenco have enjoyed a ten year relationship with Admiral, during which time we have been trusted to supply a number of large and important upgrades to the primary iSeries servers. Our pre-sales team have worked closely with the technical experts at Admiral to translate the business requirements into a list of hardware components and thereafter, our engineering team have delivered the installation expertise to complete the solution.

VT Vehicle Solutions

VT Vehicle Solutions is a division of Vosper Thornycroft PLC which operates in the Support Services and Defence sectors. It has £1.2 billion turnover and 14,000 Employees Head Offices in Southampton, England & Atlanta, Georgia USA.

During the course of a relationship going back 5 years, Covenco have provided many services to VT Vehicle Solutions from complete iSeries machines, to disk and memory upgrades, software upgrades and even machine re-locations. VT Vehicle had a long term view to save money but additionally and perhaps more importantly to work together with Covenco to match business timescales and expertise.

Associated British Foods

Associated British Foods is a diversified international food, ingredients and retail group with sales of £6.8bn and 85,000 employees in 43 countries.

Covenco have supplied Associated British Foods and their subsidiary companies with hardware and IT services for more than four years. During that time, we have supplied iSeries disk and memory upgrades, additional features, LPAR services and tape libraries.

Typically, we work with the project team to establish the exact upgrade specification, which is often needed quickly thereafter.

Venture Finance

IBM's LPAR technology allows clients to take advantage of reduced maintenance and software costs as well as providing an environment that is easier to manage.

Venture Finance have been aware of these advantage since 2003, when they commissioned us to consolidate their European operations onto an LPAR'd AS/400 720.

More recently, they approached us to upgrade this environment to provide more power. Venture Finances's business, both here in the UK and across Europe rely heavily upon their IT infrastructure and it was vital that the project was a success with the minimum of disruption.

Covenco supplied an iSeries and replacement towers, disks and features to build the new environment side-by-side with the existing system. We provided the installation services to ‘cut' the partitions and thereafter Venture Finance were able to move their environments to the new system quickly and with ease.

We have since helped Venture Finanace relocate their IT to a new premises which required a crane and stairwalker to negotiate a complicated access issue. Again, to minimize business risk, we provided an exact replica standby system, complete with all the LPAR's, and all the engineering and logistics.
