In 2002, Covenco was asked to supply an iSeries 820 server for the London based head office of G.Modiano Limited.

The system to be supplied would be unused and carried the full IBM warranty - yet could still be supplied at a significant cost saving when compared to a new UK system. However, when the system arrived in the UK, it had suffered damage in transit, an unfortunate situation that was beyond the control of either party.

A replacement needed to be ordered and would take five weeks to arrive but Modiano's need for increased computing power remained. Covenco was able to provide swift remedial action due to our diverse AS/400/iSeries inventory. We immediately supplied a 9406/720, albeit it one generation older, that had the power and configuration to cater for G Modiano’s additional computing needs. This remained on loan during the time taken for the replacement iSeries to arrive. An engineer was also provided to de-install the intermediate system and assist with migration to the new system once it had arrived, to minimise disruption.

This cemented an already firm relationship between Covenco and G Modiano and we have since supplied three further iSeries systems, including two iSeries 520’s and numerous features and upgrades.
