Software Considerations for Network Hardware
It is very important that clients understand that Cisco and Juniper licences do not transfer with the hardware. The code remains installed on the hardware but if you wish to use that product in a live network you will need to purchase a licence.
However, not all products have an embedded licence (IOS / JUNOS). Equally, should you intend to use the product for parts or for maintenance spares the requirement to re-licence does not apply.
In order to ensure you comply fully with these requirements, please make your sales representative aware of whether you are intending to use the product live. The Covenco account manager can advise you on which products have a license requirement and the costs associated.
