When announced, it was quickly ascertained that the POWER5 range of machines was a huge step-up in performance over the earlier pSeries POWER4 Technology. In addition, they were priced at a point where they were a viable solution to even the smallest of companies. Now, with the recent launch of the POWER6 System p machines, the cost of the current range of POWER5 and POWER5+ is certain to become even more affordable.

Covenco can provide the complete range of IBM p5 machines (from the entry p510 and p520 machines up to the mid-range p55A and high-end p570 and p595 machines), 2nd User, at competitive prices compared to their original IBM list costs. Additional Processors, Memory upgrade features and other parts (Fibre Adapters, Gigabit Ethernet, I/O cards) are also available for newly supplied or existing machines. Many of these features were first available in the earlier pSeries range of servers and therefore using 2nd User parts in the POWER5 range of servers is a ideal way of making the most use of your available budget.
