Discontinued in late 2003, the RS/6000 44P 7044 Model 270 is an affordable 64-bit symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) system and an ideal, cost-effective, solution as a workgroup, technical server, or e-business server.
With its enhanced performance, SMP capability, and advanced graphics, the 7044 Model 270 is well positioned in the mid-range and high-end MCAD workstation price point. Its enhanced floating-point capability and overall computing capability it offers a single seat MCAD design and analysis solution. The Model 270 was at the high-end of workstation offerings, ideal as a design and analysis workstation. Available in 1, 2, 3, or 4-way 375Mhz or 450Mhz POWER3-II Processor with expansion of system memory to 16 GB these machines still offer outstanding value for money.
Covenco always hold 270 servers, processors, disk and memory in inventory and we will continue to supply whole servers and upgrades to support the large 270 install base. Typically, lead times will be 2-5 days on any 270 upgrades and our engineering team can provide the installation services.
